They have no retention because they operate only on hype and fear of missing out. By trying to appeal to everyone they've basically appealed only to the easily pleased but its these players that will try and never play again despite liking it. Maybe Ubisoft will learn that people want quality but personally I doubt it and given the aggressive nature of this game i'd say they spent more on behavioural psychologists than on development. When you bump into stuff you just turn 90 degrees left or right and the screen goes grey. Riders Republic is essentially the same thing with assets from the Assassins Creed and Ghost Recon open worlds wrapped in a game of extreme sports minus the extreme part as there is no injury. They just care about giving the illusion of quantity at the expense of quality. Remember The Crew and The Crew 2? The Crew failed because the world was awful, it was empty and there was nothing to do but they still allowed people to spend $60 until they brought out what they called an "expansion" but then charged the existing player base another $30 to turn their existing games into something at least playable! Then The Crew 2 came out with Cars, Boats and Planes and once again Ubisoft showed they don't care about getting it right. Published Riders Republic takes a unique approach to making their world feel more alive & populated, fill up races, & create a fair difficulty curve. It's joined by Versus Mode, where players can challenge up to five friends in any career event, alongside the 6v6 Tricks Battle - in which teams attempt to score the most points by performing tricks - and Free for All mode, featuring a playlist of events for up to 12 competitors. Mass Race is the flashy one, dropping a new race for upward of 50 competitors onto the map every 30 minutes. Participants can play for up to four hours in total across the seven-day event, trying their hand at all five of Riders Republic's sports careers, available both solo and competitively across all the game's multiplayer modes. And while the newly announced free trial week - which runs tom 21st-27th October on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC - won't pack in anywhere near as much playtime, it's considerably more convenient for those with a busy schedule. Ubisoft has given players the chance to put Riders Republic through its paces a number of times already, first in the form of a closed beta and more recently as a 24-hour test on PC.
